Feature Request: Enhanced Privacy Controls for HR and Confidential Teams
Dear Missive Team, I am writing to propose a feature enhancement that could significantly benefit organizations like ours that handle sensitive information, particularly within human resources and safety management. Feature Proposal: Privacy Control Enhancements for Designated Teams Background: With the release of Missive 10.62.0, I was impressed to see the implementation of a feature that prevents previously deleted users from being re-added to conversations on non-email messages. This functionality is incredibly useful for maintaining the integrity of private communications. Issue: However, we currently face a challenge with email communications directed towards our HR team and other confidential groups. Specifically, when a sender or user is removed from the "Shared With" list, the system automatically re-adds this individual during email reply composition, potentially exposing sensitive comments and discussions. Request: We would like to request the development of a similar feature to that introduced in version 10.62.0, but extended to include email communications. This feature would allow designated teams (such as HR or Safety) to be marked as private or confidential. Consequently, any users or senders removed from the "Shared With" list would not be automatically re-added by the system. Or consider removing senders from the shared list by default if they do not belong to the Team that they are emailing. Additional Item for Consideration: I have experience in another system that warns users when they attempt to add someone or "at Message" someone who is not part of the designated team. This would also be good to alert someone of a potential privacy breach in Missive.. Current Workarounds and Limitations: We have attempted to circumvent this issue by creating a separate organization within Missive; however, this solution falls short as it hampers our ability to seamlessly interact with necessary stakeholders, such as managers who need to be directly involved in specific discussions via '@' mentions. Conclusion: Enhancing privacy controls as suggested would not only resolve our current operational challenges but also potentially benefit other Missive users with similar needs. We believe this improvement aligns well with Missive’s commitment to user-centric design and privacy. Thank you for considering this request. We are eager to see how Missive continues to evolve and meet the diverse needs of its user base. Best regards, Daniel J. Quinlan President Quantus, Inc.
