Trim white space at the end when pasting a search term (i.e. email address) in to the search box so that "search for email" is the default option instead of "search for text"

When pasting an email address having additional white space at the end into the search box, the default search option offered is to search by the pasted string. Only when the white space at the end is removed, the option to search for an email address is offered by default.
I am often pasting email addresses into the search box and would benefit from any white space at the end being trimmed so that I would always save a keystroke or two.
