One of the nice features within Gmail is being able to Translate the email that I am reading with 1 click. (Might require the Translate Chrome plugin).
What's odd is that in the (native) Missive app, I have to select the text, and bring up Google Translate (or whatever) and paste it to translate it.
Could we have some kind of ability to do Translations within the app?
Maybe this is similar to wishing for a Plug-in Architecture to allow - some kind of cross-API to allow synchronizing Assigned Tasks with something like Todoist and/or Google Calendar?

I made a simple version based on what Matthew Delmarter shared in his gitlab repo here: https://github.com/willpatera/missive-sidebar/blob/main/index.html (there were some updates to the translate API which required writing a bit of new code)
The nice thing about github is that if you have an
index.html
it automatically publishes it to github.io and you can then directly call it. The trickiest part might be setting up the translate service in google dev console. In Missive you make a custom integration and then just replace the stuff in
<>
with your github user, repo name, and translate api key. https://<your-github-username>.github.io/<repo-name>/index.html?key=<translate-api-key>

I would love to translate foreign languages messages within the app, just with TRANSLATE button (just as Gmail have) - we are using that for many languages and now have to do copy&paste

Matthew Delmarter: Hello can you please help me or any else out. If I get a message back from a site like mercado libre for a customer I get an error translating it. The integrations only works when the message is only text.

Yes, live translation is an essential feature. We deal with customers from all over the world and it's a huge waste of time to have to constantly copy/paste into a separate translation app. This should be integrated into the core application and it should be seamless. Provide a field where we can enter our Google Translate API key and the app handles the rest automatically.

This would be an amazing feature to have. We have partners and customers from all over the world, and we do receive emails in different languages, some of which are automated notifications that we need to know about!
