Optional sidebar w/ external info on sender

It'd be awesome to get extra info on a sender when reading an email. Did this person buy from us before? Is there an open case? An unpaid bill? That data would have to come from outside Missive so this would be more for developers to create their own added context using a Missive API that passes details on the sender and the rest is custom code displayed in an optional sidebar (or pane when hovering the sender address, is that better?).

With the custom integration (optional sidebar w/ external info) you will be able to bridge the gap between your team inboxes and your business data.
The integration will let you take over a part of the user interface with your business logic! You can learn more here:

Philippe Lehoux: Thanks team, brilliant!

Philippe Lehoux: Wow, great timing! Thank you so much!

Philippe Lehoux: Hello Philippe,
Nice job, I was looking forward to the personalized integration.
However, I did not find a complete example (especially for the hosted page).
Maybe I'm too lazy but it would save me a lot of time!
Our user case is simple:
- For each selection of an email in Missive
- In the right panel, we display user information (based on their email) from our CRM (PHP/MySQL)
What do you think?

Philippe Lehoux: Amazing work guys. Thanks so much for getting this up and running. Do you think it would benefit all if there was some kind of app store that we could all build? I'm prepared to build out some iframe integrations like Shopify and RepairShopr. I'm sure others will do the same. Thanks again Philippe Lehoux Great work.
Matt Edbrooke
Philippe Lehoux: Sorry, one last thing. Do you think it would be possible to use the iFrame as a method to integrate a website chat service like intercom, Olark etc or are you planning on integrating these natively into Missive?
Philippe Lehoux
Frédéric Delamare: Here's what your JS code could look like:
Philippe Lehoux
Matt Edbrooke: We are open to accept code submission for integrations. We do already plan to support Shopify.
Philippe Lehoux
Matt Edbrooke: No I don't think that would be a good option. We plan to support some chat providers natively like we do for FB, Twitter and Twilio.
From what I remember Olark doesn't provide enough API endpoints for us to integrate with them, Intercom does.
Matt Edbrooke
Philippe Lehoux: Okay, native support for any chat app would be awesome. With that you're gonna blow the competition out of the water. Native Shopify integration would also be superb.
Geoff Ball
Philippe Lehoux: Although this is a very appreciated advancement, and looks very powerful, it does not help those of us in environments where we cannot host an HTML page. I'm hoping that in this DIY approach, the request tickets to view details about contacts is not lost (or considered "done").
Philippe Lehoux
Geoff Ball: Hi Geoff, based on voting count on this request I knew there was some confusion regarding this feature. Contact management is still planned. You can also have a look at this integration: https://missiveapp.com/integrations/full-contact-enrich which lets you automatically fetch infos about people writing you email.
Geoff Ball
Philippe Lehoux: Thank you Philippe. I'm happy to hear that and look forward to it.
Full Contact is an option that's about two orders of magnitude out of our price range.
Frédéric Delamare
Philippe Lehoux: Hi,
I came across this message by chance.
Here is our PJ implementation, top!

Any updates on that feature?

Any news on when this maybe scheduled?
Philippe Lehoux
Matt Edbrooke: This is the next big step on our roadmap. We never give ETA, but it's coming soon.

Philippe Lehoux: Amazing. You’ll give FrontApp a run for their money.

I loved XOBNI in the past, later on yahoo Aquire them, and close it! side bar with all the info from sender(social included) and all the files exchanged by us.
A great feature was also collect contacts from cc

I am looking at Front & Kayako because of this exact reason. Having the context of the customers journey in the sidebar would help. Having their purchase history (Shopify, Stripe) and actions would make Missive unbeatable.

Any update on this Philippe Lehoux? Would love any kind of timeframe!
Philippe Lehoux
Karl Harris: No ETA, sorry. But defitley planned.

John Katsiotis
Hi, any updates on this? It's our show-stopper from migrating to Missive from Front. Thanks
Svetlana Malakhova
John Katsiotis: Agree. This is a very much needed feature. Now we have to enter data manually in 3 different services (Missive, Pipedrive, Todoist). And we would like to have as less manual entry as possible.
Philippe Lehoux
John Katsiotis: Hi John, Rafael answered you by email but just for the others here, don't expect this short term. Right now we are working on the ability to define Rules and the release of our public API.

Philippe Lehoux: Any update on this? The ability to add Nimble CRM as a third party side bar would do pretty much what everyone is asking. It's avail in gmail and outlook currently.
