On my tablet in portrait mode the left side bar collapses by itself, but in landscape it reappears. Either way the width of my mail window is narrow. I assume simply making the collapsed left side bar from portrait mode available to landscape and desktop is all that needs to happen, ie a super simple change!

Just coming back to say I'd really like this. The sidebar is so distracting for me. Look at the new Mail app, you can close the sidebar and just hover your mouse over the left side the screen to bring it back into view (float) and then it disappears. Lots of apps do this today, like Arc too. I'd also recommend you allow us to fully hide right side bar too, especially for those of us who don't use it much. There are many panels in Missive and clearing them would really clean things up.
