Internal read receipts · See who in your team has read each message and chat comment.

Just to add to this, WhatsApp read receipts would be great as well. I believe it’s supported by the Twilio WA API

This would be a helpful tool for us as well. If it is something that we opt into as an organization, and is explained in a "How Missive differs from Webmail" intro box it might help new users see the power of this type of collaboration while making clear any privacy or other issues that it raises.

I agree. Not just to see if they read my internal comments, but to also see if they are caught up on the latest emails that came in. See attached, thats how spark does it. Very similar to facebook messenger.
Philippe Lehoux can you comment on if this is a privacy issue, or just a priority issue in terms of when/if this will ever come.
Thanks!

Knowing whether or not you chat has been read is a crucial tool for teams communication I have started sending chats with my phone just to be able to see if my chat was read

we would like to be able to see when a team member has read a message

Wondering why such a basic feature where most chat tools already have this feature, Missive hasn't implemented this as of yet. Is this even in the pipeline?

This would be a great feature.
In the meantime, we have a convention internally that people use the thumbs up emoji whenever they've seen a message and it doesn't require a reply. It's not a perfect solution—but it gets us by.

This has become even more important for Chats and Emails since the Sunset of the Pixel Tracker. Perhaps emails could provide confirmations by verifying domain ownership and doing it for the whole domain or sub-domains for larger enterprises.

Brian Davis: Sorry, I’m not sure I understand your suggestion. This thread is about who in your teams has read the internal chat messages (comments), similar to FB Messenger. We do not plan on bringing any email read tracking back in the future.
Brian Davis
Etienne Lemay: I understand email tracking was sunset for external communication. My comments are regarding internal communications and conversations.
If internal message tracking in conversation comments is going to be enabled for chat (like FB messenger), then not allowing internal emails to have the same treatment creates communication gaps that can be exploited as the current internal icons don't tell us whether an individual email as been seen/read or not.
It would certainly be safer to make sure we have the capability to track all communications and conversations across our organization at the very least given the sunsetting of traditional pixel tracking.

Looking forward to this !
