I would like to be able to optionally search comments in conversations at the same time as contents of emails.

Please make sure we can search for NEGATIONS of criteria for conversations and tasks. Like doesn't have a label or isn't in the inbox or doesn't have a Team, or doesn't have a task description, or doesn't have an assignee, or missing due date, or status isn't closed/progress/to-do, or wasn't created by, or not subject, or without attachment, or not to/cc/bcc/from/from domain, etc.

Would also love to be able to simply search the left sidebar and have only the resulting item expand the section and have it scroll to the highlighted items. Also, it seems like filtering sections or applying filters to sections would also help a ton.

Search is key for people that live in missive. 
If we can’t trust the results of a search it’s dangerous 
Outlook is flawless at searching. Can you marry their search feature with your other features? :-)

search in missive is unusable. I have to log into outlook.com to search emails. glad to see improvements are being planned

Currently, when searching for specific keywords, I cannot see the keywords highlighted in the emails within the search results, nor can I view the specific email in its thread. It would be great if these functionalities could be added, as they are available in other email clients like Thunderbird, and they help greatly with navigation and managing conversations.

Would it be possible to consider this feature for a future update? I believe it would enhance the overall efficiency and usability of Missive.

The search functionality for IMAP accounts needs significant improvement. Users need advanced options—filters for specific fields (subject, sender, comments), a user-friendly UI for search operators, and better performance to locate relevant content quickly. The original request was made in April 2023, which remains a critical need. Please prioritize this in your roadmap!
